Terms of Use

Last updated: June 23, 2026

By using Murmur, you agree to these simple terms. We've kept them short and plain.

What Murmur is

Murmur is a journaling and reflection app for women. It is provided as a wellness companion. It is not a medical service, a therapeutic service, or a substitute for professional mental health care.

If you are in crisis or struggling significantly, please reach out to a doctor, therapist, or your local crisis line.

Anonymous whispers

Whispers are short anonymous messages of support that users share with the community. By posting a whisper, you agree:

— Your whisper is anonymous. We do not attach your name or identifying information to it.

— Your whisper may be shown to other users in Murmur, indefinitely.

— Your whisper must be kind. We do not allow whispers that contain hate, threats, harassment, advertising, or unsafe medical advice.

— We reserve the right to remove a whisper that violates these guidelines, even after it has been posted.

What you write privately

Anything you write in your journal or save in your reflections stays on your device. We don't have access to it. You own it. You can delete it at any time.

Account

Murmur does not have user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, no password.

Changes to the app

We may update Murmur over time — new prompts, new themes, new features. By using the app, you accept that the experience may change.

Limitations

Murmur is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Use of Murmur is at your own discretion.

We are not liable for any loss of data on your device. Because your writing is stored only on your phone, please back up your device if your writing matters to you.
